From the moment we arrived at Deer’s Leap until the moment we left I found the venue completely enchanting and the owners and their staff welcoming, kind, thoughtful and willing beyond measure to make my daughter’s wedding the most memorable of celebrations. The fact that Deer’s Leap itself is almost removed from ‘normal’ life made the whole event more magical; it felt as though it belonged to us- just for the few days. It is a beautiful place for a wedding and I cannot praise it highly enough. Moreover the owners could not have been more welcoming and friendly. They made it seem as though we were special, not just ‘another wedding’ and I so appreciated that. 

We arrived earlier in the week and were able to decorate the venue in the way that my daughter and her future husband had planned. Every effort was made by Heather and James to help us, to facilitate every wish and to ensure that the outcome was as the couple wished.  We stayed in the house which was ideal for us and this allowed the family and friends to spend time together before and after the wedding. The house was lovely and welcoming with every home comfort that we could possibly need and it worked very well for us as a big family.  

It was simply an amazing wedding celebration that we will always remember with fondness. I don’t think that I will ever forget the fireworks at the end of evening with the music of Aerosmith playing in the background. Magical and enchanting are the words that really sum up our time spent there, the wedding and the venue itself. Thank you so much Heather and James, and all your staff, you made our special day so special and so memorable- I really can’t thank you enough! 

Dear Heather, James and the Team, 

I just wanted to message you because John and me have been talking about nothing but that how amazing our wedding weekend was and we wish we could go back in time and re-live the whole thing again. It has honestly been the best weekend of our lives and you, James, your Mum, Maddy, Rosie, Hannah, and everyone else involved did an absolute top quality job in EVERYTHING! We could not have wished for a better wedding than this! 

All our guests were incredibly impressed what a lovely place it is, how nice the house was, how welcoming you all were and how delicious the food was. Many of them said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and they never felt so relaxed! Making a whole weekend of it was the best idea. It was all so magical and perfect, there isn’t a single thing we would do differently if we were to do it again. 

We are certainly one of your biggest fans from now on and will make sure the world knows about how great everything is there.

We have recently returned from a week’s stay at Deer’s Leap Retreat – June 2015: we rented the farmhouse for our immediate family to stay-in, for our wedding celebrations in Devon. The house itself was exactly what we wanted and Heather and James we the perfect hosts throughout our stay: they really couldn’t do enough to cater for our needs. Nothing was too much trouble.

Each room including all bedrooms & bathrooms were spotless on our arrival; we were also very pleasantly surprised by the high tech facilities available including a rain shower and hot tub lit by fairy-lights at night! We even received a welcome hamper on our arrival. You really do get treated very well at Deer’s Leap. None of the family wanted to leave, and we are already planning our next visit with them soon.
